UFOs Through First Nations Eyes: Ancient Knowledge Meets the Phenomenon

Mindy Tautfest is the Founder and CEO of the modern International UFO Bureau, carrying forward the legacy of the pioneering organization established in 1957. A seasoned investigator, educator, author, and former ICU nurse and disaster-relief responder, Tautfest brings an emphasis on professionalism and investigative standards to UFO research. She has developed training for investigators, authored Dying to Meet Them, and appeared on programs including Ancient Aliens and The Proof Is Out There. In 2023, she spearheaded the recovery of the historic Hayden C. Hewes archives, preserving decades of primary-source UFO records. Today, she leads the International UFO Bureau's efforts in scientific research, investigative systems, historical preservation, and public education. Michele Meiners is a Native American investigator, entrepreneur, and cultural advisor of Navajo, Chippewa, and Pawnee heritage whose work explores the intersection of Indigenous knowledge and unexplained phenomena. Following years of fieldwork in Utah's Uinta Basin, she developed a research partnership with Dr. Jim Segala involving the Multi-Sensor Automated System (MUPAS), designed to collect environmental data associated with reports of anomalous activity. Meiners serves as Vice-Chairman of the International UFO Bureau and is a lead investigator with the Paranormal Rangers alongside former Navajo Rangers Jonathan Dover and Stanley Milford Jr. Her television appearances include Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch, Uncharted Adventures, and Beyond Belief. Across her research and media work, Meiners seeks to bring Indigenous perspectives into the wider investigation of UFOs, UAP, and high-strangeness phenomena.
