UI 017: The Dr. Laura Letter Response "Women in the Torah" (Part 4)

from ultimateissues's podcast

When I began this series I knew it would take some time and effort, but I never would have guessed I would be four parts in and not even half way through.  I guess it's like other forms of constructions, you know where you are supposed to double the estimated time and cost of any project.  Oh well… so be it. So, I've started looking up other people's responses and unfortunately they are not very thorough nor compelling.  I'm not sure if it's a time issue or knowledge issue, but other's responses don't really discuss the deep meanings of these verses.  Some reference mystical explanations… but that's not my forte.  Nothing against, mysticism - it's just not for me.  So you'll notice that in general my references are based on the strictly the Torah text, context, and understanding of what was understood in Biblical times. Now, let me get to the question I skipped over last week. Dr. Laura... c) I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev 15:19-24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.
