Tien jaar geleden overleed Constant (Constant Nieuwenhuijs, 1920 – 2005), een van de belangrijkste 20ste-eeuwse Nederlandse kunstenaars. Zijn weduwe, Trudy Nieuwenhuijs – Van der Horst, richtte een stichting op waarin zij samen met haar dochter het oeuvre beheert. De Fondation Constant organiseert tentoonstellingen, inventariseert het oeuvre en verkoopt werk uit de nalatenschap.
