Samen gaan ze in St. Louis op zoek naar de oorzaken van geweld, misdaad en ongelijkheid. Met een reclameposter-plakker die alleen tussen tien en twee in de wijken durft te werken, een professor die laat zien dat rassenscheiding nog steeds bestaat in St Louis en met een dappere dominee die tijdens het 'murder rushhour' tussen elf uur ’s avonds en twee uur ’s nachts door de straten wandelt van de – volgens de FBI – gevaarlijkste wijk van de VS Fountainpark.
