They were not attacking the aircraft parts manufacturing factory in Taganrog, that's just where the anti-missile defence missiles fell. The attack was meant to hit Rostov-on-Don where the Russian military's main command post (the general staff) for the entire Ukraine war is located.Videos of the "damage" in Taganrog do not correlate with that expected from ATACMS missiles.UpdateThe other explanation is that Dima jumped the gun and that Russia was choosing to limit imagery of damage. The plant his was significant. Moon of Alabama informs us that it produces components for Russian AWACS planes.Russia acknowledged the attack and the Taganrog target, and said it failed: 2 missiles downed by interception (Pansir), 4 by electronic warfare.NovorossiyaVilikanovosolikaNo major changes since Dec 1, except jousting for control of the settlement on the northern road and AFRF inching forward to surround the town.ShevchenkoThe town to the southwest of Pokrovsk, inside the outer defence belt, is between 50 and 100% captured by the AFRF. It is a part of a "blooming flower" achieved by the AFRF breaking through what little AFU defence existed and obtaining movement in the rear.Update: Simplicius and Dima reported the 'reason' for the "flower". A known Ukrainian propagandist blamed the military for not sending forces to defend the area which supposedly had extensive fortifications.The reality is that those "defensive" lines were as mythical as on the ones behind Avdiivka. The Ukrainian military had minimal soldiers there because there were no defensive works.
