Ultimate Habits Checklist | Ep: 10

from Brain Boom with Matt West · host Matt West

The first item I have on the list, because it's only going to be four tips is to map out your daily life strategy. From get better sleep, exercise, what are you going after? What changes are you trying to create on your life? If you don't know what areas of your life you want to master, you're going to be spinning your wheels because the last thing you want to do is create a do to list on activities that isn't going to produce results. And you can write down in a journal the habit you want to master. You don't want to waste your time and your resources creating habits that aren’t purposeful and doesn’t matter most to you. The second thing you need to do is create a small achievable goal. This will allow you to improve daily and see yourself moving closer to your goal. This is important because if you don't have momentum, you're not going to be motivated to continue. Now when you're doing this, you don't want to just check out task on a to- do list, you want to connect to why you’re focused on changing and find what you most value that's related to what matters to you. And gradually do a little more than you did the day before. Remember you’re competing with the person you were yesterday. The third thing on your checklist needs to be execution. Forming the right strategies are important. However, without the right mind, you're not going to get the changes you want. Staying committed is part of Life's journey, you want to make sure you’re staying committed and consistent. Keep in mind, it’s ok to have off-ways, just don’t turn off-days into off-months, or worse years. And you can use a person to hold you accountable as you figure out how to shift into making it a part of your life. And the last thing to do is enjoy the process and not focus on the results. When you focus only on the outcome it sounds like a pipe dream, right? But it’s possible, If you know how habits work. When you do, you can take full advantage of them and put your success on autopilot. Leave some feedback: What should we talk about next? Please let me know.  Did you enjoy this episode?
