Um Lagarto
from Daily Picture · host Stephanie Hawkins
Today I felt drawn to the Portuguese word "largato" which means lizard but actually, also used to refer to the muscles of the upper arm. This has made me further think on the occasion when Aaron (older brother of Moses) and Hur (leader of the tribe of Judah) held up Moses's arms which needed to stay up the whole time during the Israelites' battle against the Amalekites, to ensure victory. (Exodus 17:12-14). Interestingly, I had prayed for someone yesterday who had had a frozen shoulder. I reminded her of this incident with Moses and said that we are all called to support and pray for one other, being neither distant from others nor too proud to ask for help. I believe that the picture of a "lagarto" today is for me to make the association with upper arm muscles, to Moses's need for help and the Body of Christ's unity in helping each other.
