En 1984 se decubrieron galaxias que poseen solo alrededor de un 1% de las estrellas de una galaxia clásica, razón por la que se las conoce como galaxias ultra difusas. Para intentar estimar si la materia oscura guarda la misma proporción con la materia clásica en las galaxias ultra difusas, investigadores de la Universidad de Yale analizan la dinámica de movimiento estelar de una de estas galaxias, llamada NGC1052-DF2, descubierta en 2015 y localizada a unos 65 millones de años-luz. Tras analizar el movimiento de las estrellas que constituyen esta galaxia, los científicos concluyen, con enorme sorpresa, que carece de materia oscura. Más información en http://cienciaEs.com
