Unchecked Bias Breeds Contempt | Your Inner Narratives Dictate How You Feel About Yourself & Others

from Support, Protect, Empower - The Project Purpose Podcast · host Rachelle Innocent

Unchecked Bias Breeds Contempt | Your Inner Narratives Dictate How You Feel About Yourself & OthersLimiting beliefs are a double-edged sword in that you limit yourself just as much as you limit the people that you impose your beliefs and attitudes upon.Chances are, if you are comfortable with the biases that stereotypes that you have with others, you are limiting your own potential and growth by imposing narratives on yourself. The narratives that you feel best align to who you are and your circumstances. News flash, we each carry greater potential and capability than any of the pigeonholes that society asks us to choose from. Rather than indulge in feelings of contempt for those who dare to step out of the box society placed them in, why not take it as motivation to step outside of the box you've placed yourself? You'll find in life that no matter the privilege, benefits and social standing a box gives you... it still by its own definition limits you. So rather than feel contempt for the limits that you have allowed to be imposed on yourself, and instead of choosing to impose those limits on others... why not let people surprise you. It's time we let everyone off our hook.Do you have any questions?
