Uncle Wiggily and a Big Rat is a short children's story following the old gentleman rabbit as he camps in a homemade tent beside a bird family's nest. After a feast of turnip cake and carrot frosting, he settles down for the night — only to be woken by scratching at the tent wall. A large rat carrying a lantern of trapped lightning bugs creeps inside, intent on stealing the little birds for his own amusement.
