"Uncle Wiggily and the Moon-Man" is a free short story by Howard R. Garis following Uncle Wiggily Longears, a gentlemanly rabbit, on a kindly evening errand to visit his sick friend Nannie Wagtail. Along the way he encounters the moon-man, tumbled down from the sky with a burning mouth from cold bean porridge — straight out of a Mother Goose rhyme. Uncle Wiggily offers him an ice cream cone, easing his pain without a second thought.
