Uncle Wiggily and the Pulpit-Jack is a short story in which the kindly rabbit gentleman, Uncle Wiggily, frees a Jack-in-the-Pulpit plant trapped beneath a heavy stone on his way to fetch groceries for Nurse Jane Fuzzy Wuzzy. The plant promises to return the favour — and gets the chance sooner than expected when the hot sun ignites Uncle Wiggily's box of matches, threatening to burn his entire bundle.
