A trailblazer in the administration of justice and public service, she currently serves as an Acting Justice of the Supreme Court of The Bahamas and is the former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Belgium and the European Union. H.E. Bazard has a formidable background in law, having practiced extensively in civil litigation, family and matrimonial law, employment, immigration, probate, real estate, and corporate matters. Her notable contributions include her role as Director of Compliance for leading financial institutions such as Scotiabank and FirstCaribbean International Bank, where she developed and implemented multi-jurisdictional compliance frameworks across the Caribbean. An accomplished educator and thought leader, she has served as an Associate Tutor and Acting Course Director at the Eugene Dupuch Law School, a lecturer at the Bahamas Institute of Financial Services, and a founding force behind the Bahamas Association of Compliance Officers (BACO). Under her leadership, BACO established a pioneering AML and Compliance Diploma Program that has trained numerous professionals across the region. Her academic credentials include an LL.M. in Financial Compliance and Risk Management (Summa Cum Laude), a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.), and multiple international certifications in AML and financial compliance. She is also a member of the Inner Bar as King’s Counsel and has received numerous accolades, including the Bahamas Financial Services Board Professional Excellence Award and Compliance Officer of the Year. Throughout her career, H.E. Bazard has held influential roles across both government and civil society. She has served as a Senator in the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, Chair of the Consumer Commission and the New Providence Port Authority, and has led various national and international initiatives, including serving as Chair of the OACPS Ambassadorial Working Group on International Tax Governance, AML/CFT, and other key global development platforms. In addition to her legal and diplomatic work, she is deeply committed to community engagement and service. She is an active member and former parliamentarian of the Nassau Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, and has offered pro bono legal support to women’s shelters. With a reputation for integrity, precision, and visionary leadership, H.E.
