UNCW Basketball Lands Vet Forward, Guard

UNCW mens basketball coach Takayo Siddle bolsters his 2026-2027 roster with two key signings: combo forward Tyler Nelson and guard Tahlan Pettway. Nelson, a 67 Charlotte native, spent four years at Navy, amassing 835 points and 459 rebounds. He honed his skills in Armed Forces leagues and earned international accolades. Siddle praises Nelsons strength, skill, and maturity, expecting him to provide leadership. Pettway, a 62 guard from Worcester, Massachusetts, impressed as a freshman at Western Carolina, averaging 8.5 points and shooting 39.4% from three. He started ten games and scored in double figures fourteen times. These additions address forward and point guard needs, enhancing depth, shooting, and tenacity, positioning Siddles team for a strong 2026-2027 season.
