Everyone this is your host Danny and here's what you can expect on today's episode of opinioneering hope you all enjoy it Level up. Thanks for clearing that up. He can fear hearts stopping. I thought the movie was a lot better than I thought it would be Was it Mr.

Rogers saying about like watch the helpers? It just reinforces everything. I don't want to get my help So he's not died before he thought he was ready, but it's still a trash movie I think somebody acting was absolutely atrocious. I get it right you can't you're kind of poking fun at like super here We always do this so here's something different So we're gonna walk in there super here movie Jason you're gonna take a little bit of a back seat You can also ask questions because we're talking about your favorite superhero.

Oh no all my No Character in anime my hero. Okay. Yeah, so we're gonna talk man. Oh forget it.

I'm leaving the room Hey, I sat through spoilers on it. I'm spider verse So I'm gonna let you open up a comment where your thoughts going into it and then take us through the journey of where you went up All right, so Welcome to hooks Warner Brothers for the DCE who has put out insane trailers like yeah, yeah The I remember the first time I saw the man of steel trailers and I was just like holy moly This looks like a good movie right every single time and you see man of steel you're like that wasn't like the trailer and then Suicide squad was a big one where you saw the trays the Bohemian Rhapsody trailer. Yeah, I was like holy moly This movie looks bonkers and you watch me like that was awful. Yeah, you know and So when leading up to Aquaman, I saw some of the trailers and I was like I don't want to get my hopes up Yeah, right cuz yeah I'm a longtime DC fan DC has put out a ton of great movies in like several decades But the recent DCE you films have been very much a miss over hit.

Oh, yeah, I like man of steel I really like Wonder Woman. Yeah, it's hard to find much else. Yeah, um, yeah So going in I was very apprehensive. I was like this could be just another Justice League use another mindless slog where you know they Graphically color out Jason Momoa's entire beard But I Really enjoyed Aquaman.

I think that so you were hesitant going into the I was hesitant going into the beat But excited at the same time. I mean, yeah again longtime DC fan scene a Aquaman movie period I never thought that would actually happen right is one thing you know going in though I There's so much to talk about. Yeah, what do you start? Well, okay, so I liked it.

Yeah, I like it Maybe a little less than Wonder Woman, but I like Wonder Woman and Aquaman for different reasons and Man of Steel or like my three favorite DCU films right now. Yeah, like them for different reasons. Yeah, Man of Steel for the fight scenes I mean the small ville fight sequence is amazing. Yeah, and it's like Superman actually fighting like super powered right?

Yeah, I was first time we got to see that. Yeah, we're superman 2 with Zod and by throwing a mannequin around is kind of Transparent s yeah, but like seeing them throw like trains at each other and crap like that That's pretty impressive. Yeah, and then with Wonder Woman, you have like some great acting I think Chris Pine is great. I think there's a lot of fun personalities in that movie and as a period piece It's it's it's great.

Yeah, I think it's a good example of what the DC EU needs to do is give more power to its directors Once they find good directors. Yeah, how do Jenkins great? You know James one great. Well James one's not working with one He left.

Oh, he left. Okay, so there's that I didn't know that yeah, but hopefully it so it seems like one of my the two biggest problems for the DCU Hopefully you can say were the studio Warner Brothers and Zack Snyder the Snyder era. It seems is coming to an end It's probably for the best Snyder is very much He's niche. Yeah, he's very niche or niche.

I always say niche. Do you say like quiche niche? It's quiche niche Snyder is very much. I don't want to say one note, but he kind of producing it the same I just want to say it though.

Yeah, he kind of produces the same sort of thing over and over again Yeah, maybe came off watchmen a little too soon before making a Superman movie like I was I think I was telling you I saw a an interview with Zack Snyder where he was talking about being offered Superman after he was producing watchmen He was like man Superman's the enemy. I still I'm thinking like watchmen, you know that's my world Like I just want to tear this character down. I was like you're not ready Sir, it's not your no you can't do that right so um So I hope that the Snyder era is ending I hope that Warner Brothers can stop meddling and stop over editing stop weed and asking things and being like okay Well, I know we just finished this film, but we need to fix it because like why yeah, right? So I feel like with Wonder Woman and Aquaman the directors were free to create a cohesive Well cohesive films.

Yeah, they were just like this is what this is going to be I'm not going to overly reshoot it when it's done. Yeah, and what was your take on? It was way better than I thought it was gonna be yeah, like I thought it was gonna be a dumpster buyer, right? You're expecting justice.

Yeah, I was really just like that's the last thing we got when I watched the trailers I was like I'm not gonna get my hopes up, but this trailer doesn't look horrible, right? You know the only thing that's been good. Yeah, well you watch a trailer even BBS had pretty good trailers Exactly. I called once they had good.

I mean Warner Brothers can produce some amazing trailers like where I'm watching I was like oh my gosh This is gonna like bring me to tears and then you watching you're like not really I could have I told Jason this they remember when I'm remember she's like Atlantis doesn't need a king right now It needs a hero can everything and then the very next shot in the trailers when he's jumping off the bell tower in black man to look No, it's like do you know what I want to do? I want to edit that take that out and then as he's jumping intertwining that song We're like I need a hero I want to do that but I thought the movie was a lot better than I thought it was gonna be yeah I thought there was it wasn't a great movie. It was a fun movie It was a swashbuckler movie. You know like a high adventure right exactly like you put it pretty well It was a plastic movie.

Yeah, I thought was more like black panther underwater kind of thing I haven't seen black panther. Yeah, I'm textually. Yeah, like that that makes sense very similar You know this guy he goes down. He has to like fight for the throne.

He loses has to go regain his black in the movie is he What's the word? As a tent reluctant reluctant to take the crown. Yeah, um No, he's more of Not cocky but he's more of um Guilt ridden that he doesn't know whether he could be a good king or not Because his dad because like a war his dad dies. Yeah, like his dad died before he thought he was ready So then it was like doubt there.

Okay, we'll be a good king. You know, okay, thank you. Um So there's that but it's not like I was no cast and I kill him in more and more so that sort of like I was now cast And I came in was is more of the antagonist from black panther right which was like Michael B George. Oh, he was now cast he comes in so it's practically two sides of a coin but it has very similar parallel lines Um, I hated some of the acting.

I think somebody acting was absolutely atrocious Yeah Wonder Woman sees me atrocious is a very harsh word. It was just very weak Right, you know, which is like so with Wonder Woman like I think I was telling you as we came in Wonder Woman definitely has a better acting for sure. Uh, Jason Momoa was Jason Momoa as Jason Momoa Yeah Where's there's some actors that are like that like who am I think Johnny Depp Johnny Depp every movie is Johnny Depp as Johnny Depp Sorry again, you know, whatever it is Ryan Reynolds is an oil every movie I've ever seen with Ryan Reynolds It's Ryan Reynolds playing Ryan Reynolds as you know, whatever the character is. Yeah, that's why he plays Deadpool so well Right because it yeah, that's a character that's sort of meta right?

It's well, it's it's meta but also the slapstick kind of jokes that just come off the top of Ryan Reynolds head in movies and how he delivers that I'm very authentic. Yeah, it like the proposal my wife loves movie proposal, which actually is there's a level of authenticity But that doesn't necessarily equate to Great acting right? Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah. No, I agree with that. So, um Jason Momoa some story parts I just didn't like To me like a hero is doing what just talks about what is a hero someone who chooses to do the right thing, you know Um and I get it Arthur is human still so he still is He fights with his inner demons type of thing so when he allows black man's his father just to die in the submarine He's like the sea brought him Watch the sea take him kind of thing. He just walks away and lets him die I'm like are you kidding me or like he's literally with so much strength in his being throws a Patch oh the pipe right.

Yeah. Yeah. Oh my dude. That dude's dead.

Like he's gone. He's gone. He's a shoulder. Yeah Yeah, I felt like that was the end of the Snyder era right there Because I was like that seemed like Snyder.

Yeah, very much so Snyder created that character that version of that character right? Yeah, where Aquaman is like screw you out of here Right and it kind of hills back to the uh 1990s Aquaman when his arm was chopped off He was very he was very barbaric. Yeah, even then as so with the character Aquaman sort of the you know The butt of so many jokes. Thanks to things like robot chicken stuff like that.

Yeah, exactly But that's even bled into the DC universe like I remember reading the great U-52 Aquaman books. Oh, yeah, and there was a lot of that like so you talk fish. Yeah deal. What are you gonna do?

Well, yeah, like the middle of the US. I think he has like fish and chips and they're like, isn't that kind of cannibalism to you? Like I'm not actually a fish in it but uh in Jason. It's called Aquatic telepathy.

Oh, I'm sorry Thanks for clearing that up. I'm curious as to what he called it earlier. Um, so But I did like the fight scenes were extremely well done. Yeah, like right when Nicole Kidman starts kicking guys ass in the house You're like this is gonna be pretty good.

So that's that's where I like that thematically So the cinematography does this thing where it sort of spins around and gives you like this uneasy okay Are we upside down or we sideways now right and that sort of preps you for a lot of what's going to happen underwater? Right now this film spent a lot of time underwater, which I was surprised Yeah, I was not expecting like 70 percent of the film to be at water right which I was like I dig you know, I dug seeing Seeing the comic book elements that are mythical and Elemental and grand beyond like there's no way this is realistic right like seeing Atlantis or the entrance to Atlantis and you're like You know like first question was like Jason. Oh, well, I'm gonna just swim right over the top of it Like because frickin they have giant water cans. Yeah, you know, but stuff like that where You could easily just have been like well Yeah, it just looks like Roman castles underwater Right, but they decided to go this whole different creative route and have the different kingdoms and all these things There was a lot of stuff in this movie to where it kept changing settings You're like in the center of the earth.

You got the trench you got was it Italy they landed on the good Sahara right I'm in the Sahara and then went to Sicily right and that's the part where I was like this is like a comic book comic books are constantly changing Yeah, Sicily was when I was like this is not horrible. Yeah, this is pretty good That's sort of that's I felt like that was when the movies started to bring itself together Yeah, because before that was okay. This happening. This happening.

This happening I don't buy like any kind of relationship between Mira and Arthur. Yeah, same. Um, but that was the moment where you're like, okay Now I see your vision for this movie now. I'm sort of on board with what you're doing.

Yeah, um, we should have more black man His suit was great. I don't think he was gonna act her. No. No, I did not like him as an actor.

He didn't do much He didn't have a range in that movie. Well, yeah, you're right But when you do see him like when I did like Patrick Wilson actually oh, okay So can we talk about him right after this sure? Yeah, so uh, so when remember when Patrick Wilson's goes to him He's like here's money go a water hologram. Yeah, there was so much stuff like that I was like I've never seen a water hologram like that's cool.

Yeah, um, and then he's like no, I'll do this free Like he wasn't terrifying to me. Right. It's definitely it felt like it was it felt like it was acting. Yeah, right?

Yeah, exactly. I'm Patrick Wilson. Yeah, I'm a fan of every Patrick Wilson is kind of the guy that blends in, you know So every Patrick Wilson film I've seen I was like, oh, yeah, that was Patrick Wilson. Yeah, but yeah exactly right?

We're like, oh, yeah, let me be your freedom Yeah, so anyway, you're like That's a ridiculous Uh shoemaker right Joel shoemaker. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Anyways, um, I Okay, because ocean master is a detour level villain, right? Well, he used to be detoured now He's be blessed here with uh throwing up at lances which which they did the story. Oh, right? And yeah, but I'm talking like whole history of the character Yeah, average is very much not at all on the level of like, well, you know general populace awareness It's like as far away as possible.

Yeah, he's like about like form with the ocean master. It's such like a cheese ball name, you know But making him sort of like this uh This power-hungry villain who's not just power for the sake of power but power for a noble cause like I have to protect my kingdom right Um from a very real threat, right? Um is good, but I like that Patrick Wilson was a very clean villain um a very uh a very cold villain somebody that you could believe It wasn't this demon possessed thing. She was like, wasn't this light in the sky?

And he didn't have any any level of maniacalness to him any level of um Hatred beyond what was logical right? It was right for him to hate his brother Right. It was right for him from his perspective to hate the surface Right, no this thing so it's like a character that you can believe in what his ideals are they made sense for his character Right, um and I I liked I mean even the dopey costume like it was one of my biggest apprehensions was when he puts on the ocean master helmet Mm-hmm. I was gonna be like that's good.

Because that is such a stupid mask I mean it looks like the electro mask from like classic spider-man with the lightning bolt right five points But they made it work and they actually flexed the brow the brow is cheek cheek Right and I was like this is what needs to happen because as soon as the villain puts on the mask You you lose all connection with that because now you're just looking at a mask Right, it's sort of like bane and dark knight rises Like at least you got to see his eyes imagine if it was the whole mask though like the look at where mask is with the patches over that Exactly wouldn't care at all but tom hardy could Yeah, yeah all that so Anyones plays venom. I saw that last week. I didn't see that. Yeah, um But uh, so yeah, I liked um definitely the spectacle of the film was off the charts Yeah, I mean there were moments where I was like this looks like a comic book splash page.

Um, the fight sequences were great special effects were great I thought um and so much so much is packed into that film. Um, I definitely would be down to see a second Yeah tomorrow night when you're not gonna go to the movies. So uh, she's like, oh, go see Aquaman Oh my god, I'd go down to see the end. It was it like 56% of the audience is for that movie as women.

Oh, yeah Asians. Yeah I'm freaking ripped. Um, yeah, I like that so the movie kind of uh plays on subversions of the superhero genre a little bit Um, but I feel like doesn't quite escape them at the same time Um, which is interesting especially with what you were talking about earlier about black panther But um, my manager is another one of those that you empathize with the villain and you're like, right? Okay, I could I can see what brought you to this moment.

Right? I don't agree with your tactics. Right. But I can see how you got to that.

Yeah, And the point in that sense is the sympathetic villain not that you're like, oh poor dude He lost his mom a little bit, but you get the worldview. Yeah, that I think is important. Yeah to an extent Yeah, and the same thing with uh, uh, killmonger from black panther. Right.

It's very very similar. Um, Now I'm touched a little bit on Mira a lot of people. Sorry. Okay.

Okay. Um, subversions. Okay, I see. Okay, I'm gonna go see So um, the bar scene right where the dudes come up behind him Did you like that?

Okay, I'm gonna say subversions. I'm not gonna apply a thing on this. Okay, so Obviously you're like, there's gonna be a bar fight scene. There is a bar fight scene in so many superhero films.

Yeah, right? Yeah, that's the cliche. Right. So when he pulls out a pink phone, you're like, I get it, right?

You're kind of poking fun at like superhero movies always do this. Yeah, so here's something different. Um, but at the same time It doesn't escape these cliches. So I can't remember how many times this happens might have been four or five You'll have to go back and I'll have to go back and count it But um characters will be talking and then a wall blows up and like and he's walking yeah, and it happens like four or five times during this movie It's very um, chain black Shane blackish Shane black was the writer for the first two lethal weapons and iron man three and he directed that one to and the new predator Um, he was watching a documentary a little feature right on him And the reason why a lot of the directors Richard donner liked the script Um and liked what Shane black was doing way back in the day was because it was the unexpectedly of that happening like a scene would be happening and it Would explode right and that was very you would take people out of their element right then and there so member iron man three You haven't seen iron man three.

Okay, uh, you see any little weapons? Yes So when they're walking towards a house member, um, when they're like, uh, they can't have any tattoos He's like, bye. Bye. Bye.

Remember that? And he's like tattoos. It's like that And he looked at rigs like this is a special force that you right so when they're walking up to the house before the house They're all arguing like no you man When the house explodes before that wasn't really happening it would you walk in here? Right, right?

Exactly. Yeah, I'm saying you have a scene on the dark night where that kind of happens to um Can't describe it because it's gone now. So forget that they probably do but I feel like in this movie It does that too frequently. Yeah first time when you're in the lighthouse right?

Um, and it happens or like oh Some crap about it. Yeah, but by the time you're in italy and it happens with black manta You're like, okay, you guys need to come over the different stick. Yeah, so um, I think it's a movie of Well, maybe not extreme highs and lows, but I think it has a lot of highs But at the same time, it's it shows you a lot of things you've never seen before but at the same time It's relies on a lot of you know Things that you've already seen. Yeah, so yeah, sort of sound redundant Mira a lot of people hated on Mira.

I actually enjoyed ember heard of me. Okay Like I don't think she had bad acting like she did choose a great actor like in it like um the how And i'm not gonna go to do like dude you saw the struggle between having family and going arthur i'm not gonna go that route. I'm gonna go more of the root of You freaking idiot like we're relying on you. You're just this person from the surface.

I don't need you. I don't want you I just need you to not start war right? I don't want you as a person or anything like that There's no like romantic essence in the very beginning. There's no that um I just liked her as a character because she had her own trajectory in life But then you know through sisley and through all that she starts to yeah, you can see that yeah be more involved And it's so interesting It's interesting in that the movie waits that long to kind of start to develop I mean obviously you can see it coming they're the main leads right they're going to right everyone else arthur and Mira are together Yeah, well, that's the other thing is that i don't know what is with dc and making out on ruins of a city Or when about like superman one of jakes his biggest things he hates about man of steel is that he makes out with lois On the wings of metropolis like people dying in the nearby skyscrapers that he can hear like he can he can hear hearts stopping Right.

Yeah, no When somebody pointed that out to me before i was like oh, yeah, i mean now given You could possibly argue because he was taught to focus his his abilities and his senses I mean he was all focused on that red hit you know right but uh, it's still kind of yeah It takes away from us right and he takes away from the hero element of like exact what i want right now is it drop it drop you down Are you okay? All right? I gotta go yeah, there's literally like millions. Yeah, well plus sorry real fast It kind of takes away from the moment when it's like here's 500,000 dead people i'm gonna make out and then he's like i killed For me i had to kill so yeah, it doesn't i think that snider didn't Doesn't think about And not to jump on the like just hating snider for everything i mean he's pretty do some I don't know yeah, yeah But the man has sort of an immediacy to his line of thinking it seems where it yeah Or there doesn't think of the ramifications of what he just put on film right like how do you deal with man up steel Batman v Superman doesn't even come close to dealing with Yeah, but then it's like you think about like what else should happen in this moment other than this Yeah, exactly Yeah, even in his scenes not that they're one note that his scenes are one direction Like there's not he doesn't think about the externals what's happening right so when you're on stage and when i did the acting on stage It's and i tell Whitney this all the time and she's actually gone.

We're really good at this so it's kind of um J remember what we were talking about with um my hero when he's a watch the hero watch the hero Remember watch the hero i remember you're saying that but that's not really like my hero doesn't say that you're saying no We said it during that episode um but oh just was it mr. Rogers saying about like watch the helpers Yeah, watch the helpers in the scenes kind of like that That's a good mr. Rogers So i tell Whitney if you want to see a movie that has a good director that actually thinks about things that are happening on screen And good blocking and good overall everything when he's watching his monitor don't look at the main actors Look at look at the extras in the back. Look at the side because that's your atmosphere Right what's happening context because the context that what's happened not the full context But the singular point the main actor and actions your eyes are naturally drawn to that But and that's what the director's doing, but what helps reinforce what is happening in those moments Takes place on the outskirts right people can look at your life and like oh he's a good guy And he his life is okay, but if you look at all the externals that they're dealing with all the bs that's happening in their life Like I couldn't handle what you handle kind of a thing It just reinforces everything and in these movies He's like oh my gosh, and i was like right just like that guy like yeah Because when a director's looking at a monitor he's only looking at that's what the you know reinforce your point Sniers only looking at what he wants.

He's not thinking about everything that's happening externally And that's it doesn't lend well and reinforces a scene. It's like he doesn't think about and again I'm sure he's a nice guy. Yeah Maybe one of those things like hey, I don't like what were you thinking no it's not like that But I want to ask like what were you thinking of the day of shooting like what did you want to emphasize? Because I want to get into what you were thinking because I can now I can say okay, that's what you were going for right cool Yeah, but it's like he he's incapable of anticipating How an audience is going to react to what he put down right right?

It seems like he thinks that Um that we will with man of steel that we just would have bought into yeah, well, yeah, of course all this but some of it feels so wrong that you're like I mean, I guess it makes sense, you know if you're gonna have kryptonians and they're gonna terraform in metropolis right that that's gonna happen Right, but What happens as that's happening doesn't seem to equate right? And they do that and augment you so when the battle's going on when he brings the trench and everyone's in this epic battle and people are dying and Ships are falling out of the sky and he's like making out with me Yeah, yeah, oh my god Literally like I love my people follow me into battle But I don't give a rat's bottom if you're dead because I'm making up here kind of yeah, you know, um now that's sort of like the The climax of the character development between the two of them where they actually you know falling in love right but Probably could have been placed somewhere else yeah now for the scope and the scale and the spectacle of that Oh, it looks cool a 3d like move around kiss where You've got there's like lasers and sharks and like a kraken in the background like exploding every I was just like I someday aspire to a kiss that Like as the world's flying We're breeding a jumbo shrimp as we speak Brian monkey whatever um, but yeah, so I feel like I feel like aquaman is a positive in that it's Next to wonder woman the furthest we've gotten from the snagger era Um wonder woman was pretty far. We still had some of the sniders colorations. Yeah in it.

Um aquaman was As far from a snider movie as you can get especially insisily yes, especially Yeah, like even when you're underwater at Atlantis the darker tones are still there with rioluminescence kind of like everything But insisily it's like oh my goodness. Yeah, right. Yeah, right in the water like It doesn't look like it was colored that way in post it looks like this was james one's vision for this movie Right to be this colorful like a tropical aquarium right right right so um I feel like I feel like that toward the end of the film once he pulls the sword from the stone And and the miracle from heaven occurs and he gains presumably the ability to communicate with everything under the ocean Right, uh and he gets the craggin and he has the first kings tried in And he has a special armor. It's kind of like well obviously you're gonna win level up right?

It's it's so it's like and this is an issue I think that's unique to dc's characters in that and there's a complaint too is that they reach a level where they're so Immensely powerful. Yeah, so like at the end of justice like when they're fighting step and wolf superman's back There's no way he's gonna lose so the film's over right even though you haven't seen him beat the bad guy when Aquaman arrives on the crackin with like everything in the ocean behind him as his own like private army The movies over yeah like there's no way you could lose right? I mean he has that duel with orm and it looks cool It looks awesome. Um, but he was like, uh-huh orms not gonna beat him Yeah, dude's got like the first king's trident.

Yeah, dude can do like pretty much anything at that point right so Oh, the special move was so cliche. Oh, that's spinning. Yeah. Yeah, that was probably the weakest point And I thought Jason was acting was the weakest point that was the we spinning your time about a spinning dragon Yeah, as soon as vocal was like, I will teach you this How he gets the last one yeah, he's gonna be a warm my way.

Um, right now. Do you remember superman? Uh, losen clark? I didn't watch it.

You didn't watch it. That is a superman move so when he has to take out not zod someone else with crayons arms No, he starts like they had to have his battle because he was like kendor came to earth and he was uh betrothed to someone else and so he in order to break his vows he had to like defeat someone to like relinquish the crown of kendor some crap with that And then um the person that was training him in kryptonian weapons, which is a staff that has like He's like Um, he's like And he doesn't shoot it out. I was like and when I saw a vocal do that like oh, this is the same thing Like I was like, yeah, exactly. So I feel like I I mean that obviously tells the audience that Jason mamoa's arthur's character arc is complete But it's so superficial you're kind of like, yeah, right?

I've seen movies I do this so once you reach that dual You're like he's not gonna lose there's no more tension left by the time he the end of the movie is when he pulls is when he gains A trident that's the end of the film. That's the end of all tension He is now the messiah. He is now the king. He is now Everything that he needs to be to fulfill this movie, right?

So my question nearing or as that deal is going on was like this is over I mean he's gonna beat him he's gonna spare him because then that's the lesson that he learned to be a merciful king instead of being the Horrible monster that he was at the beginning of the film when he let black man his father die, right? So of course he's gonna spare him right so then what can happen to end this film? That is going to be something meaningful. That's not he beat the bad guy he became king the end long-lived king And I like that The film is bookmarked by the love of his parents Yeah, right and the final line in the film I believe is it was their love that saved the world That to me was the line that brought it all together that made it so that everything in the middle is almost peripheral to that Yeah, is peripheral to the father everyday walking to that war and waiting for the queen Yeah to come back.

Yep that the love of two people who weren't even in that extraordinary I mean the mother of course it was queen, but the guy's just like I run a lighthouse It's like not that interesting at all. Yeah, but the fact that love saves the world I think is a great thing. Yeah, and it's a great thing to close on. Yeah, I loved having a brother myself That's that's fairly close in age.

I loved that as they were walking king orm away or Duke orm. I guess Prince orm. I don't know what his title would be after that Prince Princeling orm as they're walking him away to prison Arthur's like hey when you're ready, we'll talk I was like that's such a brother thing You know, it's like I hate you because like you tried to go and I'm other and all this stuff, but We're still brothers. Yeah, I like that But I liked that the film closed on love saves the world.

Yeah, I like it started like I think like their love was like forbidden type of thing Very romantic. Yeah, and the beginning of the film I felt was real slow real just like okay. You're narrating to me This is like an 80s text crawl. Yeah, you know where you're kind of like here's a phone and then they kiss You know, it's kind of just like very rote um, but I like that they bookmarked the film or a book ended the film I agree with that.

I agree. I think that was yeah I was the way that this film needed to end. Yeah, but it did How do you go forward with the character? How do you okay cuz again once this one Superman beats death Once Arthur gets the first king's trident and has all these insane powers.

Where do you go from there? I mean, how do you come up with a situation that is more challenging than anything else that we've already previously seen I mean you can start to bring in sort of the dragon ball Z situation where like well dark side power level is more than superman's power level So of course, you know, you stronger, but it's sort of a problem like like what could they do for Aquaman too? Um, I actually have an idea. I have one idea is that and this is what I thought about I don't like that they made the trench a part of this universe.

Yeah, well, I like that they made a part of the universe not a part of Uh the realms. Oh, you know, wasn't it one of the realms. No, it wasn't okay. The trench was this prehistoric Uh, you know end of the world.

So how many kingdoms there's seven seas right? So seven kingdoms, right? And then in this film I thought we saw five of seven Um crab folk the merfolk the Atlantians The zeb zevel right and then mary's father Um, that's five. Dolph 100 was in this movie.

Julie Andrews played the kraken in this movie great Yeah, but I was like what's on the credits and so five kingdoms and then the trench and then there was one that we didn't see The lost kingdom was the desert kingdom right so I thought that was it, but I don't know I I think I think um what they did for did you eat ocman rebirth? No, so augment rebirth is finally a culmination of arthur trying to bring uh peace to the land of the sea So he creates an atlantic embassy on uh to the lighthouse bay like he starts building it right around where the lighthouse is Uh emic b. Okay, and so what happens is that black manta is trying to Destroy it and uh kina does what the beginning of this movie was Where he creates a war between atlantis and the united states and then you know super man gets involved And then he's like dude. I thought you were gonna be on my side on this right but superman sort of the us Yeah ambassador and he's like yeah, dude like i feel like that's great.

Yeah, because all of a sudden now like you you've taken me in Are you told me I was in justice league, but I've never been you know how I know it's because you're standing between me and them because you're thinking that I am against you And I'm not and you don't trust me. That's why I think that I am probably most outcast with just like that's pretty good lines Dan Abner that now that was really good So trying to reach to his humanity side because he's op right now humanity side and his brokenness I think that could actually work created an embassy and then doing like a war thing But you have to get in order to get to that point you have to have a superman that works Right. I mean because calvel is out of the picture at this point, which is to me and shame I wanted to see Henry calvle be superman and not be Whatever he was previously. I don't I think he was a really good casting.

Yeah, I mean he turned like look the part He was a voice of it. Yeah, it was like a huge dude. I mean when he took a shirt off a man See, I was like, okay But um real quick go ahead and then what we have to get to justice league just young just but how do you think that they can go forward? So I I don't know dceu has a lot of problems Obviously, I wouldn't want them to color the rest of the films based on the success of a command is gonna hit a billion Which is crazy.

I mean it beat justice leagues grossing like a week and a half or something like that That's insane 283 million in Domestic 703 million international. Yeah, I think it's harder than that now. Oh, you just checked in on my channel Okay, um, so that's like nine hundred. I think last I saw it's like eight or nine hundred million No, I don't mean it'll yeah guarantee but um So I don't know you can't build a universe off of Aquaman You cannot build a universe off of Wonder Woman You need Batman and Superman to be the the core of a DC universe on film Yeah, um maybe just continue producing solar films get directors that can produce a concise vision That was one great thing about Aquaman.

It was a concise vision. Yeah, it wasn't it didn't feel as much of an edited mess It's certainly just a slager suicide squad like that Like I can't wait for the deleted or the deleted scenes to come out so I can make sense of this movie, right? And I didn't feel that yeah, but the ultimate cut like you said for bbs for bbs the ultimate kind of fixes that movie But it's still a trash movie. So right great ideas in it some of them.

Um, but Yeah, it's bloated. Yeah, so Aquaman though, I think it was great, but I I don't know I mean the next movie is Shazam. It's kind of that's even more left field than Aquaman. Yeah.

Oh, yeah, so How would you fix the dce? Uh, I'm sure dude. I had this one theory that and Jason keeps rolling his eyes at me when I say this theory But uh, I'm just joking. I think that they should do what marvel has it done And they're trying to catch up to marvel but in my opinion marvel try to do it with agents of shield Which is connection their television series right with their movie series.

They're saying connect with cw I think that they should do crisis on infinite earths which they're doing in cw right? Uh, yeah next year and Incinlective making a cheap park giant for people. I don't want to see a flashpoint. No, no, no I mean, I would be happy to see that flash.

I like grant gusts and swan I don't mind Greg. I'm I he looks apart way more than as a miller. Yeah, it acts it way better than as a miller Right. Oh, yeah, um, I think you know some of the flash season are great The thing is though, it's like the cw has a lot of problems the cw shows Oh, yeah, I mean they're very much television Which which real quick before we go on that because that's a good segue over the shows and justice because I have something to tell chan In a second so real quick, how would you not fix it?

What would you go talk about to you? Um, so there's a there's a story somewhere. I can't remember where it's from where they do have a baby Um, mira and you know to sire the air of the kingdom and black mantis steals the child Do you remember that story? Okay.

It wasn't recent. No, it's somewhere They had the dredge where mira there's a prophecy that mira would be shoot flood the earth right and so um arthur has to go on this thing to kind of Rich like take back that prophecy and so like that was pretty cool And then there's one that actually just ended where arthur orum does come back or cal rough does and he's like the head general And he's still think arthur's not worthy because of the war that's happening and he overthrows him so then um arthur's Right hand man. There's a uproar and there's a there's a Coop that happens and stabs arthur in the back and literally stabs in the back and arthur falls bleeding and he's like fall It was a 12-issue spread like it took a year to get there. Yeah, well something like at that level That's very much medieval Shakespearean.

Yeah, but the cool thing that happens is that he falls To the to the bottom layer of at lantis So where the crustaceans and the crab people aren't stuff like that and then there's mutations that's happening because of what's happening closer to the surface so the rich at lantians are You know causing Experiments and stuff and trying to tear up warm even the bottom of of of that lantis and so arthur doesn't go by arthur No more. He's like i'm not the king of this and like this so he sees The the underbelly of at lantis and sees like wow like i thought like that was messed up I haven't been a king to them and they think i'm not bad but i haven't been a king to the boat to the port Yeah, and i thought it would be great to sort of backpedal on his confidence Yeah, but it would have to be something like that where he can't just i'm gonna sum up the kraken and win Right, because if it's just a power shuttle it can't be a battle. No Yeah, it has to be something more delicate than that like he can't just fight the us You know, I mean you could probably it may be people at us. Yeah, unless there's a superman I don't know but then that makes it interesting right and I would love to see an Aquaman versus superman.

Yeah, don't justice um cool
