Underrated Freshmen Could Be Buffaloes' Secret Weapon | Colorado Buffaloes Basketball News

Colorado’s basketball future just got a major upgrade thanks to a gritty, under-the-radar freshman class. After losing key players to the transfer portal, Coach Tad Boyle hit the recruiting trail hard—and the payoff is a squad full of hungry, unpolished talent with serious upside. Barrington Hargress, who knows a thing or two about raw potential, is already buzzing about their work ethic and willingness to sacrifice for the team. Even with Rider Portela sidelined, guys like Alex Dickeson and Goc Malual bring pro-level experience from Australia’s NBL, giving them an edge scouts might overlook. Guards Luke Mirhashemi and Amir Jones bring scoring and playmaking, while forwards Chase Hill and Eric Jacobsen add scoring and rebounding punch. With Boyle’s proven ability to develop overlooked talent, this class could be the hidden gem that turns the Buffaloes’ 2026 season into something special.
