Understanding the Bible - Our Daily Bread

John 6:24-35 I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that the Bible had 40 writers, but only One Author. It is a spiritual book written by the Greatest of all Spiritual Beings for spiritual beings. The unsaved cannot understand this book because they do not have spiritual eyes to see or spiritual ears to hear. Only those who are alive spiritually can grasp it. Sadly, as a result of the “Enlightenment” there are many people today who think that the Bible is no more inspired than a great novel like “Gone With the Wind.” They think it should be read and interpreted the same way any other great work of literature, such as Shakespeare, and that we should interpret the Bible according to our own world view. The truth is, the Bible is of no private interpretation. I like the way Pastor Robert Morris says it, “You don't interpret the Bible, the Bible interprets you.” The Bible is God's Word, and God’s Word was around long before the Enlightenment occurred.
