Being a child is a gift (at New birth) but, remaining a child (in the process of the Christian life) is a choice, in the family of God and childhood is bondage. We are in bondage of the elements of the world; when we remain children in the family of God. It takes growth to move from being a child to a son (maturity).  The art of redeeming us from the Law is the process of Adoption. Christ redeems from childhood to sonship. Adoption is the redemption from the law and being made proper son of God with full rights. When you don't accept the Revelation of Adoption and Revelation of sonship, you cannot be led by the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit leads you and you obey by doing, you are manifesting as a son.
