Understanding the Garden of Eden from its allegorical and more constructive perspective - part 1
from God in You · host Julio Alvarado
The story of the Garden of Eden has posed more questions than answers for both scholars and people of faith. Did the Garden of Eden really exist? Where was it located? And more importantly, what is the original purpose of the story? Unfortunately, the majority of Christianity around the world only view this as a literal story and event that caused what they refer to as “the fall of man” and “the original sin.” Yet, could there be a deeper meaning to this story than what traditional Christianity teaches? It certainly shouldn’t be confused as a literal garden. To do so strips it of all its deeper meaning and original purpose. When I first realized that the story of the Garden of Eden was an allegoric description of God “planting/sowing” Himself within the human body and brain along with 4 inherent thinking processes within it, life, and the rest of the Scriptures made a whole lot more sense.
