Understanding What Triggers Behaviors + Music & Creativity
from A Mental Health Break · host Vincent A. Lanci/ Brian Davis
In this episode, we learn how music and creativity can help improve our mental health. Seeing the struggles and lack of resources in his community shaped his vision as Brian Davis furthered his education at St. John’s University. Davis wanted to understand why people do what they do, what triggers certain behaviors, how people cope with hardship and loss, and most importantly, how to heal. His education has allowed him to flourish in the customer service industry for many Fortune 500 companies over the past decade. During the Global Pandemic of 2020, he started a group on the Clubhouse platform called Wellness Check, where up to 2,000 members would meet on a weekly basis to vent and support each other, especially as we transitioned back to reality from the Covid-19 lockdown. The group, consisting of Psychologists, Mental Health Counselors, Artists, Influencers and everyone in between, serves as a sample size of what I will accomplish with more tools and resources under his belt. This week's spotlight story will be on an article on how music improves your mental health.
