Unexpected Turns with guest, Bonnie Swinehart

Episode 142   Bonnie Swinehart is a well-known children’s author, most notably the Benjy series. Although she always had a passion for storytelling, she did not start down the path as an author until fate took control.   In 2007 Bonnie’s life came to a screeching halt and changed forever. You see, Bonnie was in a car accident which disabled her. No longer able to do her job and facing numerous surgeries, she knew she had to lean on God to guide her through her struggles and provide new meaning in her life.   One day Bonnie began pulling out every piece of children's writing she had done earlier in her life and here is where she found new meaning in her life. Her lifetime dream had been to write and publish a book. In those writings, she found what became the first chapter of her first published book. Embracing this new path where God was leading her, she made it her goal to introduce children to Him through her books.   With chronic pain most of her life, Bonnie talks about feeling deeply blessed. She has found joy through every child that enjoys her books, knowing that she has touched their lives in some small way.     Bonnie Swinehart is a writer, author, and speaker with a passion for writing for children.
