Playing with Unfiltered Audio Sandman Pro The successor to the highly coveted Sandman delay gets a serious upgrade Track info - Bibliotheca - Kaz Rodriguez - Deep Tissue Track Video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_4rOr3HoKk Sandman Pro is one of, if not the most advanced Delay plugins on the market, and is the second iteration of Unfiltered Audio's much loved Sandman. What does the company say about its product? "Brimming with new features, from beautiful to bizarre, Sandman Pro is the indisputable Swiss army knife of the delay world." That's certainly one way to put it. With seven different delay modes, each with extremely tweak-ability. With a bit of noodling, one can quickly turn a simple delay into a complex, atmospheric ambiances. On top of this, the Sleep Buffer allows for even more flexibility and sound creating capabilities, but more on that later. If this wasn't enough, living legend Richard Divine has actually created some patches for the plugin. Decent stuff to say the least... How does it work? Using an intuitive interface, any and all parameters are either instantly accessible or just a single click away. Each of the delay types has its own set of parameters, and each parameter is easily modified by automation or the modulation section. Below is a list of each delay type: Classic Tape - Emulates classic tape delays, and is the closest in behavior to the original Sandman Modern Instant - Uses granular windowing to create delays that can change times instantly without pitch or click artifacts. This is perfect for heavy modulation. Pitch Shifter - Delay based pitch-shifting algorithm that uses more vintage micro delays. Glitch Shifter - This can produce vibrant color explosions, alien drums, swirling echo clusters, and more. *Special note. I love when a company has jokes. In the manual, this is literally the explanation for one of the parameters of the Glitch Shifter: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Multi-tap: A 16 tap delay line that is similar to Modern Instant, in that all controls can be modulated without artifacts. Reverse: This mode provides a reverb delay effect using windowed grains. No Echo: This isn't a delay, it's actually a mode, and in this mode, the input is written directly to the sleep buffer.
