In this episode of In Deep, we unpack all things body image and the unnecessary comments made about our bodies at a young age—offhand remarks that seemed small but left a lasting impact. Growing up, we didn’t realise how much those words would shape the way we saw ourselves, but the head noise that followed played a huge role in our lives. We also dive into the sexualisation of women in sport, especially in surfing, where we were raised in a time where ‘sex sold’—and what that meant for our confidence, opportunities, and the way we moved through the world. Looking back, it’s wild to see what we accepted as normal—but we’re finally seeing it for what it is. The only way out is through!
