The only time I ran into this issue was when I was not wearing a matching outfit. I had on the racing suit but the caveman hat and when I went into a 2D level, I was wearing the classic outfit. Any other time I was wearing a matching costume it showed up in 2D as well. Haven't done any specific research on this, but I do remember this instance that caused me to pay closer attention to it. Thanks for a great Nintendo news podcast.JeremyTweet @runjumpstomp  Voicemail 260-RUN-JUMP  260-786-5867 Discord runjumpstomp.com/discordMultiple people mentioned this but I think that Kodiak Moonwolf summed this up perfectly.  Think I have an answer in regards to the 2d stuff on odyssey (I posted in spoilers but i know you're not reading it) So I think i've just worked out the mystery of the costumes, and what happened with that person who emailed in on the Podcast, It looks like that if you're wearing a full costume (i.e. hat and body) then when you go into 2D, the game has a sprite for it. but i guess, they didn't make sprites for all the possible combinations if your different costumes.  I tested by going into a 2d section wearing a full costume, sprite showed up, but when i went in with different parts, it defaulted to the standard marioNewsMore games shipping unfinishedBlame the suits not the devs.Did Nintendo control Mario + Rabbids more than they say?Nintendo shares the blameEA WaitingGameplayStill working my way through SMO.  Played some multiplayer with my son last night, we d
