We all have been hurt by someone and that pain is felt deep especially when it’s by someone we love. Whether it was harsh words spoken by your mother, the absence of your father, the criticisms from a spouse or even rejection from friends. Everyone has experienced some sort of offense, big or small. This sort of pain can lead to feelings of inadequacy, rejection, insecurities, fear and betrayal. When these emotional wounds are left unattended and hidden, they grow into one of the most toxic diseases; unforgiveness. Maybe you say to yourself “I don’t have unforgiveness against anyone. I’m fine.” While that may be true for some who have decided to turn their offense over to God, for others it’s only a façade, a false display of freedom but on the inside, you have imprisoned yourself. There is destruction guaranteed for your life when you choose not to forgive and that is a price that none of us can afford.
