Unhurried Pt. 1 - The Problem of Hurry

from Crossroads Go · host Crossroads Church

If you want to experience the life of Jesus, you have to adopt the lifestyle of Jesus. If hurry sickness isn’t a medical diagnosis it probably should be. In this message we'll discuss how busy and hurrying and saying yes to everything is harming our health and blocking us from being disciples of Jesus. Hurry is not something that happens to us, but rather it is a lifestyle that we adopt. We all have a little Martha in us. Luke 10:38-42 NIV - 38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” 41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” Mark 8:36 ESV - 36 For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul? Many of us are too busy to follow Jesus.
