Union ballot, referee abuse, disability bays & sports awards

from Gibraltar Today

GBC reporter Shelina Assomull brought us the latest on Unite’s ballot; the union is seeking support from its members ahead of negotiations with the government for better pay and conditions in the public sector. The Football Association is actually losing some of its young referees because of abuse being hurled at them. And they’re just children themselves. GFA referee recruitment officer Patrick Canepa told Gibraltar Today: we can do better. The Disability Society called for people to remember the current guidance regards blue badge parking in Spain. Debbie Borastero said Gibraltar is doing the right thing with EU blue badge holders. It comes after a local couple had their car towed in La Linea.  And, the nominees for this year's Sports Person of the Year were revealed by GBC Sports Coordinator John Shephard. Gibraltar Today podcast is a news show that broadcasts live every day from 1 to 2 on Radio Gibraltar and on GBC television.  Hosted on Acast.
