Unique Parenting Tips | Why you Shouldn't Keep Secrets in your House

In this episode, Lauren interviews Danielle about parenting. Danielle shares some surprising tips that most people don't talk about. 1. Always treat your kids like an adult. It develops confidence! 2. Don't keep secrets! Secrets are a breeding ground for pedophiles, monsters, disturbed people to target your children. Explain to both your kids and those who spend the most time with your family about the basis of why secrets are not allowed. 3. Make yourself known at your kids schools. Kids who are neglected, spend a lot of time alone and who have parents who aren't present tend to be the target for those who are looking for an easy target. When children are left to their own devices, they often get into trouble which can lead to other types of trouble. Prior to having kids, two people should have some serious conversations around finances, religion, how each of you grew up, who will work, punishment style, parenting style, etc. The list is extensive, but here are some things that Danielle WISHED she had spoken about with her husband. 1. Who is going to get up in the middle of the night with the baby? 2. What tasks are you responsibility that now need to be delegated? 3. What does the relationship look like once we have a baby? 4. What do you want to do about vaccines? Remember, having a baby does NOT save or fix any relationship. Go through self improvement exercises to address the foundational pieces to enhance the relationship then a baby is a beautiful addition!
