United Airlines Expands Globally | Albuquerque News

United Airlines is launching its biggest international expansion in nearly 100 years, adding 10 new global destinations including Okinawa, Toulouse, Ibiza, and Lisbon — most untouched by U.S. carriers. Routes debut next spring, starting March 27 from San Francisco to Japan and ending June 9 with Portugal flights, mostly departing Newark with one from Dulles. The airline’s new A321XLR “Born to Explore” jet will power five of these routes, beginning international service by December after domestic testing this fall. CEO praises Newark as the top Atlantic gateway and most on-time airport in New York. United is also boosting existing routes and reviving SF-to-Tel Aviv, having added 49 destinations since 2021 — all while navigating rising fuel prices, which CEO expects to gradually decline by 2027.
