Welcome to the Tweet Trends podcast. Hey, Evac, what's trending today? Hey, I mean that's a girl and you are tuned in to tweet trends. It's the quickest way to find out what's trending today Welcome back to tweet trends and happy United Nations day.

Well, you might be like well, what is that? I've never heard of this before but basically it's the day we picked to celebrate the anniversary of the UN Charter and In case you're like well, you know, I hear about the United Nations all the time But I don't really know what that is. Let me give you a brief little history about it back in 1945 after the turmoil in destruction of World War two the United Nations were established in order to prevent future devastating wars So 50 governments gathered in San Francisco on April 25th and began drafting the UN Charter Which was then adopted on June 25th and then officially took effect on the 24th of October, which is today So the UN's objectives include protecting human rights maintaining international peace and security providing humanitarian aid upholding International law and promoting sustainable development now. You're probably thinking well, how are you gonna have a show today on that?

Well, here's the thing there are a number of specialized agencies that are a part of the UN and that is where today's topics are going to be coming from So without further ado, let's get started So let's start with a topic that would be on the radar for the world food program or WFP. It's all about The foods that we eat and how they're produced. Um, so case in point cultured meat. I don't know about you But when I first heard that term, I didn't know what it meant.

What is cultured meat? Is it meat that was raised off of classical music and good grammar or what what what is cultured meat? Well, come to find out is it is exactly what it says cultured like how you do a Culture a cheek swab typing and you put it in a Petri dish and see what grows These meats are produced by in vitro Cultivization of animal cells. So instead of slaughtering animals to get the meat This is a form of cellular agriculture where basically it's produced in in the same sense that tissue engineering techniques have traditionally been used in regenerative medicine And that was a little disturbing to me when I sat there and I thought about meat being created in like a Petri dish But you know, it's like a culture it that's how it was raised and then you have these veggie burgers And I read an article about a taste test for these veggie burgers I'm like, you know what there really needs to be These type of taste test out there, but it needs to be done by meat connoisseurs people that love meat because they're they're the only ones That are gonna give you the the down and dirty description of whether or not these plant-based burgers even stand up to really Don't meet now.

There are some people out there that are saying, you know what? I don't care if they make these burgers out of plants It's wrong because what we want to do is get people away from the meats, but it is good So it's difficult to get you away from the meat if like that's all you know in your whole entire life Now you just want me to stop eating burgers So most of these burgers I have not tried I have tried the beyond burger and in this article that I read where they had a taste test of it It received four stars would I have given it four stars? No, no, not even a little bit because if you're a mindful eater then you eat with all of your senses And as I ate this beyond burger I my nose everything was engaged and there was a slight hint of something that just didn't seem right and If after I piled this burger up with lettuce and tomatoes and onions and pickles and ketchup and mustard and mayonnaise and and all of these other Toppings it made it seem like a burger, but deep down inside there was a thing There and maybe the the taste test needs to be a blind taste test where people can taste it and you know smell it and roll it around in their tongue and jot down the information and do it that way but knowing that it was a Beyond burger, maybe my head in my head I just knew that it was different so anyway if you are into checking out the plant-based burgers or culture to me Please let me know what your thoughts are Next up is the world intellectual property organization. This one's kind of funny kind of interesting kind of cool but first part of it is that the what is it the Florida Pro chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists They have decided to trademark the term fake news now And they even say that it may seem a little absurd or even extreme to attempt to trademark a popular term like fake news but they're hoping that the idea is provocative enough to get people to stop and think about how they use the term and what it means when others use it and Of course, you know This all stems from the fact that the president whenever something isn't going his way in the media It's all fake news and therefore I believe they've even already issued a cease and desist to the president for him to stop using their term fake news now So that's one part of fake news the other part of fake news deals with the Jenners Kylie to be exact I don't know if you've heard about it, but rise and shine where this came from she went into her daughter's room and Saying rise and shine like that's the only part of it I heard that there was no song or anything It was just kind of like a I'm not even on a temposine right now But she says rise and shine, you know and over the little girls crib now first off my question is who is in the room videotape?

And you walk in and sing in this next to your baby's crib like is it like that being a Jenner? Like I don't understand it, but nevertheless that's not the point here the point is she has now gone and trademarked the phrase rise and shine Now you're like well, what's the purpose of it? Well, of course, it's going to be for money-making purposes She's already got hoodies and stuff out there with the rise and shine Blisted on it and according to what I've read is that hers this trademark will cover belts pants coats dresses footwear gloves headbands headwear jackets lounges wear scarves sleepwear socks when wear Undergarments and of course, you know, makeup is a part of that too. So Yeah, now I'm gonna start hunting around to see what I can trademark and make some loot off of people just randomly saying stuff That puts a new twist on the statement if I had a dime for every time somebody said Okay, so now let's talk about you and women and before I get into this part I just want to throw this little piece out there in no way shape or form is this an advertisement sponsored by the company?

But I love the bath and body works lip losses and they have come back for the holidays and they're only $2.95 Oh my gosh So I said all that to say that you can get them online or you can get them in the stores if you go online use the code nourish and Oh, you are I SH and I'm not getting any cut of this. So don't feel like you're putting money in my pocket I just really like them and they've got so many cool flavors Okay, sorry back to business back to business. So back to UN women So the first part talks about always, you know the Maxi pad people so they say that they routinely Check their products the packaging and design to make sure and take into account customer feedback and Some feedback that they've recently been giving given is for them to be more inclusive of trans and non binary customers So what they decided to do is they're going to remove the Venus symbol on the packaging You know the circle with a little cross underneath that. Yeah, the symbol that normally represents women They're gonna get rid of that to make their products seem a little bit more welcoming to people who don't identify as women But still menstruate and I think this is interesting because if I don't know that I ever paid attention to the package and always is my Brand I love the wings.

Okay, but really I don't understand that but maybe because I'm not in that position That's why I don't understand it to that extent that by seeing that symbol on there I feel some type of way but let me tell you what I do feel some type of way about so there's huda beauty I don't know if you've ever checked them out HUDA they've got nude light obsessions eyeshadow palette and I feel some type of way about seeing this palette called nudes because if your black is beautiful like mine these colors here are not nude No, so I look at the always situation and I'm like But then I see the huda one and I'm like, okay now I get it now I get it because huda calling this nude light Yeah, you're right. It's light because it ain't my kind of nude and unless you got some other nudes out there I just don't get it. It's not fair huda. Can you change your branding to be a little bit more inclusive?

Because I feel so excluded because if I buy these nudes, I'm gonna be looking straight crazy All right, well that was today's episode of tweet trends do me a favor and head on over to Twitter and follow me at hey That's at he why evt or just look for the hashtag tweet trends with it being United Nations day Well, I think you should do to celebrate is to go check out the different organizations There's affiliated programs funds and specialized agencies that are a part of the UN group find one that you feel Charged up about that. Did you feel passionate about and volunteer see how you can help and find a way that you can make a difference? All right, have a great weekend and I will see you on Tuesday
