United Nations pleads for continuation of relations between Cuba and the USA

The United Nations would like to see the era of détente and openness between the United States and Cuba continue. That's the word from the spokesperson of the Secretary General after concerns in some quarters that the new era of engagement under the administration of President Barack Obama will be undone by the incoming Republican administration of Donald Trump. Senior Trump officials have in recent days indicated that the President-elect might roll back some of the Obama achievements if Cuba did not make greater concessions, particularly in the area of human rights and press freedom.
