United scraps some flight plans at O'Hare due to FAA cap order
from Chicago All Local
United was ordered by the Federal Aviation Administration to reduce the number of flights in and out of O'Hare out of concerns that the airport could become overloaded. The orders were set to expire this October, but the FAA recently extended them through October, 2027. United now has ended plans to start regional flights from O'Hare to 10 Midwest and East Coast destinations, including Champaign and Bloomington in Illinois. United Airlines says it hopes to serve those regional airports when the FAA order expires.
