United Way NSV: Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum

from The Valley Today · host Janet Michael

Our conversation for United Way Day with Kaycee Childress, CEO of United Way Northern Shenandoah Valley featured Dawn Devine, Executive Director and Tammy Stevenson, Director of Development & Marketing for Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum. We learned all the details for several of their upcoming events including the return of their Sunset Series on Thursday, August 31,  and the "Wander the Waters" gala on September 30, 2023. The pair gave us the scoop on a new exhibit that will open mid-September on the 2nd floor. Tammy reminded us that when they close on Saturday, September 2, they will not reopen until Wednesday, September 16 in order to complete the build. They are also the recipient of Top of Virginia Builders Association Touch a Truck fundraiser on September 9, 2023 at Clarke County Fairgrounds, and Winchester Rotary's golf tournament on October 2, 2023. Learn more about upcoming events, memberships, and play days on their website: https://discoverymuseum.net/  Before we wrapped up our conversation, we talked about the Community Impact Grant that SVDM was recently awarded from United Way NSV and how it is changing the lives of children in our community.
