from WTAW - Interviews · host Bryan Broadcasting

WTAW's Chelsea Reber visits with Sheree Boegner, Interim President/CEO, and Kat Gammon, Vice President Community Impact, about this year's Community Impact Grants. News release from United Way of the Brazos Valley:United Way of the Brazos Valley is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 – 2027 Community Impact Grant. All 18 nonprofit recipients serve Brazos Valley residents in the areas of health, education and financial stability in the Brazos Valley. “We’re proud to fund programs that provide vital support for our community,” said Max Crawford, United Way of the Brazos Valley Board Chair. “Our impact partners embody our values and help us ensure that our community’s needs are met. We’re confident the resources we provide our partners will stay within the Brazos Valley to help better our communities.” The Community Impact Grant application is a competitive process that occurs every two years. Over 35 organizations began the application process in January, and of those 18 recipients were chosen. Each application was reviewed by a team of community volunteers, who scored the applications and attended site visits to see programs in action before making a final recommendation to the United Way of the Brazos Valley Board of Directors. United Way of the Brazos Valley is thankful to the 27 volunteer grant reviewers that participated in this year’s process. “These grants allow us to help relieve some of the fundraising burden from these nonprofits so they can focus on helping the Brazos Valley residents who need it most,” said Kat Gammon, United Way of the Brazos Valley Vice President Community Impact. “In addition to funding, each of these nonprofits join a cohort of executive directors working to support each other and create lasting change in the Brazos Valley.” 2025–2027 Community Impact Grant Recipients: • Adult & Teen Challenge of Texas – Brenham Campus • Boys & Girls Club of the Brazos Valley • Brazos Valley Center for Independent Living • Brazos Valley Council on Alcohol and Substance Abuse • Brazos Valley Rehabilitation Center • Catholic Charities of Central Texas • Faith Mission & Help Center • Family Promise of Bryan-College Station • Grimes Health Resource Center • Health for All • OnRamp • The Prenatal Clinic • Scotty’s House Child Advocacy Center • The Society of St. Vincent de Paul • Son Shine Outreach Center • S.O.S.
