Unity — The Second Legacy What happens to Alcoholics Anonymous when we forget the importance of unity? Bill W. left us three legacies: Recovery, Unity, and Service. Each one plays an important role in keeping Alcoholics Anonymous alive and available for the alcoholic who still suffers. Today on The Daily Trudge, we're talking about the Second Legacy — Unity — and why it's so important to the survival of our fellowship. Unity doesn't mean we all have to agree. We come from different backgrounds, have different beliefs, and often have very different opinions. But we share a common problem and a common solution. We'll explore the Twelve Traditions, the importance of group conscience, the difference between unity and uniformity, and what happens when personalities, egos, and personal agendas get in the way of our primary purpose.
