Unleash the Powerful Word Of God

from Victory Church Jbay · host Neil Pattison

Show me Your ways, O Lord;Teach me Your paths.Lead me in Your truth and teach me,For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day.Psalm 25:4-5This week we will be looking at the word that Pastor Neil Pattison shared on Sunday titled ‘Unleash the Powerful Word of God. Pastor Neil mentioned three points that we’ll be looking at.Waiting is important. Habakkuk 2:2-3. We need to learn to be patient and wait on the Lord. God is a relational God. We can’t just push a button to get His Word. If we can learn to pause and reflect when we’re waiting we’ll develop great patience and humility. If we can embrace the trials that we face then God will refine us and develop gold inside of us.Secondly, we need to respect the Word of God. We need to be convinced that the Bible truly is the Word of the living God. Can we trust it entirely? Along with respect comes the worth we place on the Word. We need to make the Word a vital part of our lives. If we do not, then we can’t say we truly respect or value the Word. Finally, we need to sit under the Word of God. This means allowing the Word to decide how we live. It means allowing the Word to reveal the intentions of our hearts. It means submitting ourselves to the principles in the Word and allowing it to change our hearts.Do you struggle to wait on God? What does waiting on Him look like? How do you place value on the Word of God?Have you read the entire Bible? If not, what is keeping you from doing so?What is the ultimate authority in your life? If it isn’t the Word of God, how can you change that?
