She received her MD in 1973 from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. After a pediatric internship at LA County-USC Medical Center, she studied Adult and Child Psychiatry at UCLA and was Board Certified in each specialty. Soon after, she became dissatisfied with the limitations of a purely psychiatric focus. She changed her practice from psychiatry to alternative medicine in Los Angeles in order to address the whole individual. That was 30 years ago.
