Tom is also the author of numerous books, including “Getting Smart: How Digital Learning is Changing the World”, and “The Power of Place: Authentic Learning Through Place-Based Education." Previously, Tom served as Executive Director of Education for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and prior to that, he was a public school superintendent in Washington State.
