In today’s society, there is a bunch of research coming out for healthcare professionals to utilize and help guide clinical practice. Nowadays the amount of research is doubling at an outstanding rate. But there continues to be many barriers, i.e. time, accessibility, and generalizing of research across populations, for practitioners in order to incorporate research into their daily roles. Sarah Lyon, OTR/L joins the show to discuss her passion of evidenced-based practice and how she has developed the OT Potential Journal Club to help therapists stay up-to-date on the research and ultimately develop confidence and competence in order to provide the best clinical care to their clients. Sarah is a firm believer in the power of evidenced-based practice in order to promote our profession by not only allowing OTs to have a seat at the table, but to have them be leaders at the table.

K. Chesterton (1874 - 1936) LibriVox LibriVox volunteers bring you 9 recordings of The Song Against Songs by G. K. Chesterton. This was the Fortnightly Poetry project for October 16, 2011.Chesterton was a large man, standing 6 feet 4 inches (1.93 m) and weighing around 21 stone (130 kg; 290 lb). His girth gave rise to a famous anecdote. During World War I a lady in London asked why he was not 'out at the Front'; he replied, 'If you go round to the side, you will see that I am.' On another occasion he remarked to his friend George Bernard Shaw: "To look at you, anyone would think a famine had struck England". Shaw retorted, "To look at you, anyone would think you have caused it". P. G. Wodehouse once described a very loud crash as "a sound like Chesterton falling onto a sheet of tin."( Summary from Wikipedia ) IT IS WHAT IT IS with SHALLZ - SHALLY ZOMORODI Shally Zomorodi What?  "It is what it is" with ShallZ – Shally ZomorodiWhen? WeeklyHow long? 35 minutesEvery week, Mother of 4, wife, morning TV news anchor and ultimate hostess, Shally Zomorodi talks about life - its up's and downs and how to stay on track in her weekly podcast, ‘It is what it is.’  Known for her high energy, infectious smile and ability to see the cup as half full Shally talks about all things in life and how to work through its challenges.
