UNLV Expands Downtown with New Civic Office | Las Vegas News

UNLV is diving headfirst into downtown Las Vegas with a bold new satellite office at the Civic Center, designed to bring education and resources straight to the people—think admissions, career services, small business help, even podcast studios and computer labs. With a 10-year lease and major investment, interim president Chris Heavey sees it as vital for expanding UNLV’s brand and solving campus space crunches. Mayor Shelley Berkley and city council are fully on board, calling it a perfect fit for the city’s vision and a game-changer for accessibility. This isn’t just real estate—it’s about embedding UNLV deeper in the community, creating opportunity and making education more reachable for everyone in Las Vegas.
