Here is Part 06 of my series on the Ten Commandments—“Unmasked.” In this sermon, I cover the 5th commandment: “Honor your father and your mother...” And the point that I drive home is that this commandment has little to do with whether our parents—or anyone else for that matter—is deserving of honor. This commandment is intended to expose OUR propensity to honor ourselves. In other words, the command to give honor is meant to unmask the fact that we are all addicted to getting honor.
