Jamie Benn returned from his preseason injury (collapsed lung) to make his 2025-26 season debut. Vladislav Kolyachonok made his Dallas Stars debut in place of the injured Ilya Lyubushkin. Jason Robertson extended his goal-scoring streak to four games (8 goals) with two goals against the Islanders. Wyatt Johnston thought he scored the game-tying goal against New York with 0.1 seconds left in regulation, only for a league-initiated review to overturn the call on the ice of a good goal due to goaltender interference by Robertson on David Rittich. With less than 30 seconds remaining, Mikko Rantanen was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for boarding Alexander Romanov, who was helped off the ice due to injury; although we found out this morning that Rantanen will not face any supplemental discipline from the league. Oh, and if that wasn’t enough, the Stars submitted a motion in Texas Business Court on Tuesday accusing the Dallas Mavericks of violating  their own franchise agreement.
