Unpacking Time To Talk by Alex Holmes | Everyday Leadership Live

from Everyday Leadership

Male mental health, a topic that has almost become taboo in society, however a very pressing topic as many men suffer in silence. Alex Holmes, an author, podcast host and mental health resilience coach brings the issues surrounding male mental health to light in his new book ‘Time to Talk - How men think about love, belonging and connection’. Time to Talk explores how the expectations put on men through the lens of masculinity are silencing them, and how this impacts their mental health. He debunks commonly held ‘Real Man Myths’ and motivates us to move from ignoring to acknowledging – to break down the taboos about men being vulnerable and emotional, and to embrace an honest, open dialogue both within ourselves, and with those we love and trust. I sit down with Alex Holmes to unpack, discuss, and delve into some of the issues, ideologies and myths surrounding male mental health and masculinity and how we can break the stigma surrounding men opening up about their emotions and allowing themselves to be vulnerable. In this in depth, honest, live conversation we will be joined by special guests: David Mcqueen | Director, Executive Coach, Advisor Jay Richards | Co-founder of Imagen. Nick Bennet | Co-Founder & Co-CEO at Fika. The Mental Fitness Platform Powered by Restream https://restream.io/
