Unshakable Foundations of Honesty and Integrity

The Crisis of the Present HourMy beloved brethren, we gather here today in a world that is spinning in a whirlwind of compromise. If you look around our society today, you will find that truth has fallen in the streets. We live in an age of the "filter" and the "spin." People change their words to please their listeners. They wear masks to hide their true selves. The world tells us that a little lie is harmless if it keeps the peace, or that a hidden compromise is acceptable if it helps you get ahead in business.But God has not called His people to follow the shifting shadows of this world. He has called us to stand upon the rock of absolute truth.Defining the TermsToday, we are diving deep into two words that must define the life of every believer: Honesty and Integrity.Honesty is about what we say and do in the light. It means speaking the truth and refusing to deceive.Integrity is about who we are in the dark. It comes from the word "integer," meaning whole, undivided, or complete.A person of integrity is the same person on Sunday morning in the pew as they are on Monday afternoon in the workplace, or Friday night in the privacy of their own home. Their life is not split into boxes. They are whole.The Anchor ScriptureLet us turn our hearts to the foundational text for this message. In the Book of Proverbs, chapter 11, verse 3, the Holy Ghost declares through King Solomon:"The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them." (Proverbs 11:3)Let us pray. Heavenly Father, open our eyes today that we may behold wondrous things out of Thy law. Convict our hearts where we have compromised. Cleanse our lips from guile. Build in us an unshakable wall of godly integrity that honors Thy Holy Name in our daily walk. In Jesus' name, Amen.
