Unsolved Maryland

from Mountain Murders · host Dead Air

During the 1970s in Anne Arundel, Baltimore and Prince George's Counties in Maryland, there were numerous unsolved homicides--mostly of young women--fitting similar patterns. Our first case involves the murder a 17 year old named Donna Lee Dustin who was killed while her family was on vacation. Her murder has haunted residents of Bowie, Maryland for over 40 years. A story of sex, drugs, and rock n roll we look into Donna's case which has baffled investigators. Then we discuss several murders of young women that may have connections to the famous Maryland murder of Sister Cathy Cesnik. Cesnik's case was featured on the Netflix series, The Keepers. Our unsolved cases are eerily similar to Cesniks with the victims having ties to Father Joseph Maskell, a Catholic priest implicated in numerous sexual assaults. Were these murders the works of individuals, a serial killer or perhaps multiple serial killers working in Maryland during the 1970s? Mountain Murders checks out differing possibilities and theories surrounding these unsolved cold cases.
