Until you visit the graves

from The Next Life · host Jenanne Ibrahim

Episode 2 is a heavy one because we don’t play around here on The Next Life! Today, I delve into the meaning of Chapter 102 of the Holy Quran, Surah At-Takathur, which means "Vying for worldly increase." This episode covers invaluable themes that I believe we all need to be reminded of every single day:Waking up from the delusion of this worldly life, how to direct our focus on what truly matters, how this life tries to consume us, how death is a wake up call, the real reason why Allah mentions hell in the Quran (scary, I know, but a very necessary conversation) I also break down how to transform our daily tasks and routines into acts of worship through correcting our intentions. I explore Allah’s all-encompassing and enveloping Mercy, and why developing an ongoing relationship with the Quran is truly transformative. I close off the episode with my personal reflections on the blessing of life itself, on how each breath we take is a chance to correct our states, to open ourselves to the Love and Mercy of Allah, and allow it to embrace and transform us. Coming back to Allah has always been about love and can only be done through love. Allah loves us and wants us to be in heaven with Him, Insha Allah.
