Unveiling the Self Destruct tour: Behind the Scenes with Nine Inch Nails

from The Music is Talking with Alexander Hallag · host Alexander Hallag

Do you like Nine Inch Nails? Did you see them on their infamous Self Destruct Tour? Step back in time with us as we explore some of the riveting chronicles of this tour captured through the eyes of filmmaker / photographer Jonathan Rach. He is currently in Melbourne Australia and is showcasing a very limited pop up exhibition of his never before seen photographs of that tour.   This exhibition has been brought to us by  Stephen Dallimore who is the creative director of Behind The Music Gallery and also a guest with us today. Behind The Music Gallery is a new way to see and purchase iconic music photography. Jonathan was initially a stage designer whose designs were accepted by Trent on what would be known as the Self Destruct Tour.  Shortly after this he was asked to be be a fly on the wall and film the tour as there was a feeling in the air that this was going to be something very special. We are also honoured to be joined by Chris Vrenna, who was the original founding drummer of Nine Inch Nails. Both he and Jonathan recall some of their tour experiences and their own unique experiences with flying microphone stands.  Our engaging discussion also reveals intimate moments of tenderness of touring with David Bowie. As the curtain falls to this episode, we leave with the passion of Chris Vrenna, who now channels his creative energies into educating emerging artists and musicians.  A testament to the mentorship that shapes tomorrow's creative voices, and a reaffirmation of the legacy and timeless influence of Nine Inch Nails. To find out found more about our guests, check out these links:Jonathan Rach: https://www.instagram.com/jonathan_rach/?hl=en and https://jonathanrach.com/Stephen Dallimore/Behind the Music Gallery: https://www.instagram.com/behind_the_gallery/?hl=en and https://www.behindthegallery.com.auChris Vrenna: http://www.chrisvrenna.rocks and https://www.instagram.com/chris_vrenna/If you are in Melbourne, please do not miss this unique and very special exhibition.See below for exhibition times and location.https://www.behindthegallery.com.au/pages/jonthan-rach-nine-inch-naThank You for listening to The Music is Talking podcast:Before you leave ...Please follow us on instagram.com at @themusicistalking and Join our facebook group facebook.com/themusicistalkingblog Please share the show with a friend and be sure to come back for the next episode Please follow or subscribe to us on your favourite podcast platform, and leave us a great review. *winkThank you for your support!
