Helaas deze week geen Amerika Podcast. Bernard Hammelburg zit alleen in de studio: Jan is er niet, en David, onze vaste invaller, is in allerijl naar Texas afgereisd om verslag te doen van die afschuwelijke massamoord op een lagere school. Even een paar cijfers. Dit was de 27ste schietpartij op een school dit jaar. In totaal zijn er dit jaar 206 ‘mass shootings’ geweest, en in 2021 waren het er 635 – dat is meer dan twee per dag. Een ‘mass shooting’ wordt gedefinieerd als een schietpartij waarbij minstens 4 slachtoffers vallen. Excuus dat we het er voor deze week hierbij moet laten.
