Am 1. August beginnt traditionell das neue Ausbildungsjahr. Trotz hoher Nachfrage bleiben viele Ausbildungsstellen unbesetzt. Carla Neuhaus, Wirtschaftsredakteurin der ZEIT, erklärt im Podcast, woran es liegt, dass trotz hoher Nachfrage viele Ausbildungsplätze frei bleiben. Die Parteien im Bundestag haben im ersten Halbjahr 2023 rund eine Million Euro an Großspenden erhalten. Die größte Einzelspende in Höhe von 265.000 Euro ging an die AfD. Christian Fuchs aus dem Investigativressort von ZEIT und ZEIT ONLINE stellt im Podcast den Geldgeber vor. Frankreich hat damit begonnen, seine Staatsangehörigen aus Niger zu evakuieren. Zurzeit halten sich dort etwa 500 bis 600 Französinnen und Franzosen auf. Bei einem Protest von Putsch-Befürwortern am Sonntag hatten Demonstrierende versucht, in die Botschaft der ehemaligen Kolonialmacht einzudringen. Bergungsspezialisten haben festgestellt, dass es auf dem Autofrachter Fremantle Highway kein sichtbares Feuer mehr gibt.
