Der frühere US-Präsident Donald Trump ist wegen versuchter Wahlbeeinflussung und im Zusammenhang mit dem Sturm auf das Kapitol erneut angeklagt worden. Es ist zwar schon die dritte Anklage gegen den 77-Jährigen, aber die erste, die sich unmittelbar auf seine Amtszeit bezieht. Wie sich dieses Verfahren von den bisherigen unterscheidet und inwiefern es den Wahlkampf beeinflussen könnte, erklärt Johanna Roth, ZEIT ONLINE-Korrespondentin in Washington. Nahe der tschechischen Grenze in Sachsen hat die Bundespolizei am Mittwoch bei einer Fahrzeugkontrolle 22 geflüchtete Syrer und Syrerinnen auf der Ladefläche eines Kühltransporters entdeckt. Die Menschen haben offenbar gerade nochmal Glück gehabt, denn nach Polizeiangaben hätten sie in dem Laster ersticken oder an einer Unterkühlung sterben können. Die Geflüchteten sind nun in eine Erstaufnahmeeinrichtung gebracht und die Schleuser festgenommen worden. Aus Angst vor islamistischen Terroranschlägen nach mehreren Protestaktionen vor einer Moschee hat Schweden seine Einreisekontrollen verschärft. Die Demonstrationen, bei denen ein Mann einen Koran verbrannt und mit den Füßen getreten hat, haben weltweit Empörung ausgelöst.
